Grosvenor House Orthodontic Practice

FREQENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q Will I need to attend my normal dental check up appointments during orthodontic treatment?
A Yes – it is important to continue to attend your normal appointments as the orthodontist is treating a specific condition and not your general oral health

Q How can I spread the cost of my private treatment?
A The practice has an interest free loan scheme to help you spread the cost of treatment.

Q How will braces affect my brushing and flossing techniques?
A It’s even more important to have a good oral health regime during treatment and we provide an oral hygiene pack and instruction to all private patients.

Q Will treatment hurt?
A Some patients do occasionally feel slight discomfort following the fitting of their brace but this usually passes quickly.

Q What happens if my brace breaks or needs adjusting?
A We are lucky enough to have a dental laboratory on site at the practice and can usually carry out minor adjustments And repairs while you wait.

Q A friend of mine said orthodontic treatment made her feel much more confident. Do you hear this from many of your patients?
A Yes we do. Many patients feel self conscious and embarrassed about their teeth and are delighted once reatment has been completed.

Q How long will my treatment take?
A This all depends upon the severity of each case, but your orthodontist will be able to advise at time of assessment.
