TOOTH WHITENING

Many patients make enquiries about tooth whitening and we are pleased to confirm we can offer this cosmetic treatment at the end of your orthodontic course of treatment. Treatment costs £350 and it’s the perfect way to make the most of your new smile.

Your dentist will be able to advise you if you are a suitable candidate to receive tooth whitening treatment.

If you have been referred to the practice by your general dentist we will advise you whether you will be able to receive tooth whitening treatment at our practice or with your general dentist.

SOLUTIONS FOR SNORING

Snoring is an embarrassing condition that is a social taboo. Severe snoring leads to a condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

Snoring is caused when the airway partially closes during sleep. The muscles in the neck relax allowing the soft tissue in the upper throat to vibrate which causes the snoring symptom.

The condition causes broken sleep for the person who snores and their partner. Other negative health issues associated with snoring are:

raised blood pressure
headaches
strain on relationships
Some studies have found a link between snoring and OSA and instances of diabetes.

There are a variety of solutions available to help sufferers reduce snoring and these range from sprays and nose strips to surgery in severe cases.

Now there is another solution that dentists are able to offer their patients who suffer from snoring or OSA.

Sleepwell is a Mandibular Advancement Splint that is made to fit into the patient’s mouth when they go to bed. The splint which is comfortable to wear holds the jaw forward by 2 to 3mm. This alleviates pressure at the back of the throat and so eliminates or reduces snoring.
